Getting the Ubuntu Package

As the Chromium web browser is Free Software it can be found in the package repositories of Linux distributions. IGEL OS 10 is based on Ubuntu 16.04 Xenial Xerus LTS, so you can use software packages from that Ubuntu version to build Custom Partitions. You need packages for the amd64 (also known as x86_64) architecture.

This is how to find the right package and download it to your Linux workstation:

  1. In a web browser, go to https://packages.ubuntu.com
  2. Use the Search package directories form to search
    1. Set Keyword to chromium
    2. Set Distribution to xenial
    3. Click Search.
