Changing Password for Citrix XenDesktop 7.x Connection

Symptom

A user has to change the password within session to Citrix XenDesktop 7.x server and receives an error message during the process: Warning: Could not connect to the Citrix server.

Problem

The password change option is disabled on XenDesktop 7.x server (server default setting!).

Solution

Enable password change option on your Citrix server:

  1. Go to Citrix StoreFront MMC
  2. Open page Authentication
  3. Set Authentication Method = User name and password
  4. Click Manage Password Options (right panel)
  5. Enable an option allowing the password change (Any time or When expired)
